About Rosie Waters

I began practicing yoga regularly in 1999 on my doctor’s recommendation to keep my arthritic knees moving.

Initially, I trained in Iyengar yoga for two years, and then explored Hatha, Scaravelli, and Kundalini styles. It was at the Vajrasati Yoga School, however, that everything truly came together, and I felt I had found my spiritual home.

I completed the Vajrasati teacher training program and earned a 500-hour Yoga Alliance-accredited teaching qualification. Additionally, I’ve received specialized training to work with students who have ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, incorporating aspects of this approach with students who face other limitations in their practice.

My teaching approach centers on using breath to deepen and extend the body, mind, and spirit. I encourage students to practice meditatively, attuning to their bodies and breath, and developing postures naturally as the body permits, without pushing or straining. My experience includes working with mature and less able students.

Since early 2008, I’ve been teaching various drop-in classes across Sussex, as well as weekend retreats, private groups, and individual students. I have also led five yoga holidays in Spain and twelve in West Crete.
